Prominent businessman, Nigel Chanakira, who has coached over 2 000 individuals in over 500 organisations in sub-Saharan-Sahara, has pledged a US$4 000 management training package to Zimbabwe’s fastest-growing community news publisher, Perfection Media Pvt Ltd.
Chanakira said this on Saturday when Perfection Media’s flagship Zim Community News presented him with the Lifetime Achievement trophy in Business Mentorship.
At the same event Perfection Media also launched The Masters magazine.
Prominent businessmen, artistes and social entrepreneurs such as Mechanic Manyeruke, Charles and Olivia Charamba, Jefferson Muserera, Irene Mutangadura, D Song, Sylvia Sanyanga, Freddy Masarirevu, Lincoln Masiyenyama, Gibson Makumbe among others, also received their trophies.
Zim Community News publisher, Albert Masaka, welcomed the training assistance from Chanakira and added that it would benefit his young team of journalist.
“This a timely boost at this stage of our growth, we have experienced tremendous growth in less than a year achieved what we thought would happen in two years’ time.
“Our young team lead by my partner, Tariro Masunda, will be capacitated with managerial skills that would be of immense value to our business, it should also be noted that Chanakira is no stranger to the media business.”
Chanakira, at 28, made history as the youngest ever CEO of a local bank after he founded Kingdom Securities Ltd with his partners in 1994.
Emboldened by his global exposures to leadership over the past three decades, he has now made it his life passion to mentor others.
He has attended numerous local and international banking, management and leadership development programmes with institutions that include Oxford University in the United Kingdom, Harvard University, the Pacific Institute and Haggai Institute of Leadership in the United States of America.
He is also an alumni of the Global Leaders of Tomorrow, and Young Global Leaders of the World Economic Forum (WEF) of Geneva, Switzerland and he is the active Founding Curator of all three Global Shapers hubs of WEF in Zimbabwe since 2012.
He actively supports the Global Leadership Summits in Zimbabwe.

At the age of 24 years he was appointed a director at Bard Investments Services (Pvt) Ltd.
He lead various businesses to start, acquire, merge and sell stakes in banks, financial services firms and conglomerates locally, in Malawi, Botswana, Zambia, South Africa, Mauritius and then United Kingdom where he was GCEO of Kingdom Meikles Africa Ltd (KMAL) that was listed on the London Stock Exchange till his exit in 2010.
In 2011 he merged Kingdom with AfrAsia Bank Ltd in Mauritius before selling his entire shareholding to them in September 2013 to focus his attention on leadership coaching and mentoring through Success Motivation Institute (Africa).
He formed Kingdom Private Equity and he has since rendered his services as a thought leader for organisations that include UNIDO, IFC, PUM and the government of Zimbabwe in the investment reform agenda.
He has won more than 25 local and international business awards that include Director of the Year by Institute of Directors of Zimbabwe, twice being recognised for running the Top Company listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) and leading the best turn-around company on the ZSE.
He serves on the board of Celebration Ministries International, Network58 (chairman since 2019), Riskflow DBS (deputy chairman) in Ireland, and is on the leadership council of Success Motivation International (SMI), Leadership Management International (LMI) and Family Motivation International (FMI) in Waco, Texas, USA.
