Zimbabwean duo, Tapiwanashe Makarawu and Makanakaishe Charamba, made history at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by qualifying for the men's 200m final. 


The duo, competing side-by-side in lanes two and three, gave their all but ultimately fell short of the podium, finishing sixth and eighth respectively.

Makarawu Leads the Way

Makarawu, a silver medalist at the Africa Senior Championships, showcased his talent on the world stage. Despite facing stiff competition from global sprinting powerhouses, he managed to secure a commendable sixth-place finish with a time of 20.10 seconds.

"It was an incredible experience," Makarawu shared. "I'm proud of my performance and the journey that brought me here. While I would have loved a podium finish, I'm satisfied with my sixth-place ranking."
